Renaissance Swordsmanship - Open Training

About this event

NOTE: This class is closed to first-time students.

This class is a continuation of the beginner's Renaissance fencing class, open to anyone who has completed that beginner's class. The class requires at least a fencing mask & gloves, but preferably arm and leg protection as well.

This class continues with the fundamentals of the one-handed sword (sometimes called a side sword) as taught and used in 16th-century Italy, branching into the foundations of other Renaissance weapons including rapier, sword & buckler, and dagger - all of which are studied in more depth in our Core classes.

TRAINING FEES: Our club's training fees are $40 / month for ongoing students. For new students, please refer to the Beginner's class meetup event.

DIRECTIONS: We usually meet besides the Picnic Shelter at Brier Creek Park and next to Brier Creek Community Center: https://www.venyooz.com/spaces/picnic-shelter-at-brier-creek-community-center-raleigh

This location sometimes shows as 10810 Globe Rd or 9339 Bruckhaus St. Please contact us prior to class if there's any difficulty in finding the location. After 4:30 we're usually in the fields and it's hard to respond to inquiries.
