The Great Evergreen Gathering

About this event

Celebrate the holidays this Small Business Saturday at The Plant!

Come shop for unique holiday gifts, enjoy some festive food and drinks, warm up around the bonfires, and get into the holiday spirit with live music and caroling. We’ll also be kicking off Give the Landfills a Holiday , a special holiday tree project from Tree Museum and The Plant featuring 10 local environmental and community nonprofits.

12pm: Festival Opening Bell

1pm: Cookie Competition (sign up here !)

2pm: Chocolate Talk and Tasting with local chocolatier BELOVD

All Day:

• Wrap your holiday gifts the low-waste way! Stop by the Chatham County Solid Waste & Recycling table to learn how to wrap presents with reusable fabric. Bring your own scarves, bandanas, or fabric scraps, or choose from materials they’ll have on hand

• Holiday crafts with Roam Paint Press

• Tree Walk with participating non-profits, part of Give The Landfills A Holiday

• Small Business Saturday Holiday Market

• Music

• Hot seasonal drinks

• Cozy bonfires

The 10 nonprofit trees that make up the Holiday Tree Walk will be decorated using natural, reused, compostable, upcycled, or wildlife-friendly materials. And when the holidays are over, the trees will be planted, chipped or mulched, composted, or otherwise returned to the earth. Nothing goes to the landfill.

They'll stay up through the whole holiday season with QR codes so you can learn more about the fantastic non-profits that support our community - and consider them for your end of year giving.
