About this event
The African American Cultural Center (AACC) Library Reader Lounge is a monthly silent book club and communal reading session that allows students, faculty and staff to connect over a shared love for books and read in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Meet new friends, share thoughts on your current read and discover new titles from our specialized collection on African-American and Afro-diasporic experiences, culture, society and history.
You can bring your own book, explore the shelves for your next read, ask the AACC Librarians for a curated suggestion or pick up a mystery book to read. You can even bring your reading assignments if you like. Come solo or bring your friends. All are welcome to join. There will be:
• Endless books to choose from
• Community introductions and book recommendations
• Snacks, tea and coffee
• Bookish prizes
• Cozy spaces and blankets
• Space to discuss your chosen book and share your book review with your new friends
